Home Schooling

Because I have so much extra time.... I have (with the approval and assistance of the other parental unit) made the decision to home school Tuck. He is very bright and is unfortunately having the life sucked out of him by the public school system.

He thinks it is great fun. He is starting Spanish, Math, English, Spelling, Geography, and Literature. We shall see how this goes..... I have concern from my folks (who think I have gone round the twist) about how I will manage this on top of everything else.... Well founded concerns but, I think this is well worth a try at this point.

So, here is Tucks new classroom.

Let It Snow....

Just like home....



The Pacific Northwest followed us for a day... Long enough for Tuck to make a huge snowball (almost his height) and spend a snowday at home.





They tell me this is a once every 10 year event. I am very glad I was here to see the magic.

MARDI GRAS

Imagine, early Saturday morning, the sun is just coming up, Mitch and I are driving down a freeway packed with men in cammo standing around barrels burning firewood.

I have had NO coffee (a shear tragedy!) and we are bantering back and forth, "how about that one? No too wet. (we drive farther) What about this one? (we pass it)" Three trips back around the 2 mile stretch we finally rope off our spot... Only to pull up the stakes when someone changed her mind (no clue who that would be) as her good natured son jogged back the mile down the road to pull up the stakes we had just put out as we switched to another spot.

I think he might have been tired of driving in circles.

We went back home and loaded up for the day. Grabbing Tuck and my friends 3 kids. We packed the truck and went to spend the day on the side of the Interstate with thousands of other people.

We spent the day grilling, chatting, and people watching. Cars as far as you can see in both directions.

We had brought the fire pit and roasted marshmallows, tuck kept burning his.



The night ended with funny hats, huge floats, and beads falling down like raindrops....

SAINTS BIG WIN!!

WHO DAT?

Only in Louisiana... Upon the glorious finish of the Superbowl Tuck and I went outside where all of the neighborhood was out yelling, screaming, honking every car horn and lighting fireworks. (yes you can still buy and light them on the 4th and New Years) It was pandelerium!!!

An amazing game. Tuck and I watched it alone, all of the guys were off at various parties and friends homes. Mitch was lured to Monica's home last minute with the promise of Chocolate Delight (his favorite dessert), the traitor!

Oh well, we are going to a huge Mardi Gras Parade Saturday and all of the guys will be there. Spending the day grilling and playing catch, then a night of catching beads.
